Supporting Chloe’s Family (14:35)

Nicole, Chloe’s mother, and Afton, her PT, describe their process for using the FGRBI coaching frameworks, SS-OO-PP-RR and the Family 5Q, to plan, practice, and problem solve how to best support Chloe’s learning and development.  Afton describes how the Family’s 5Q helps her share relevant information and coach the caregivers on the strategies they believe work well to enhance their confidence and competence.  

A Home Visit with Chloe and her Family (58:55)

Afton joins Chloe’s family outside to provide a variety of opportunities for her to walk with her walker (or leave it behind!) Minimal editing has occurred in this video to support your ability to identify the SS-OO-PP-RR Key Indicators and the Family 5Q as these frameworks are used to support the family’s decision making and leadership in the intervention process.  Note how the routines are individualized for Chloe and her family.

A Co-Visit with Bowen’s Family (8:34)

As Bowen prepares to transition into preschool, Brandi, his mother, chooses to have his SLP, Jessie, and Early Interventionist, Ann, from his Early Intervention program, visit jointly to address his social communication and language outcomes.  The initial visits were in his home and then video conferencing was used to continue services until his birthday.  Ann and Jessie discuss the importance of joint planning and teaming to ensure their coaching was coordinated and supportive for Brandi and Bowen.  Brandi shares her experiences with coaching including mobile coaching.

A Mobile Coaching Visit with Grayson’s Family (53:57)

Jenny joins Grayson and his family in a mobile coaching visit where he shows off his new stair climbing and communication skills.  Jenny uses the SS-OO-PP-RR coaching framework to guide the family to identify priorities, practice strategies to embed in preferred routines and activities, and to plan next steps.  Matt and Nikki share their thoughts on tele-intervention for service delivery during the COVID pandemic.

A Family’s Story: Virtual Home Visits for Grayson’s Family (3:17)

The pandemic arrives and Grayson’s parents, Niki and Matt and their four boys, face a total upheaval of their typical schedule and routines.  They tell their story to other parents to help them understand the value of mobile coaching.  While they were not sure initially about using virtual services, they found the value of staying connected and coaching important and adaptable to their ever-changing lives. 

Supporting Grayson’s Family (10:35)

Grayson’s parents, Niki and Matt, describe their experience with mobile coaching from their initial reluctance to their wholehearted acceptance of the approach with their EI provider Jenny.  This short video shares their family’s story and focuses on how the pandemic impacted their lives and their supports to their family including Grayson.

This video illustrates an entire early intention home visit, with very little editing, delivered by Jenny Seuntjens via video conferencing.  Running at around forty minutes, the video includes an introduction by Juliann Woods and annotations throughout that point out the SS-OO-PP-RR framework and key strategies used by both the provider and the family.

Using the SS-OO-PP-RR: Guiding Home Visiting during the COVID-19 Pandemic (13:29)
In this video, mobile coaching using the SS-OO-PP-RR framework for guiding home visits is discussed. Led by Larry Edelman, Jenny Seuntjens and Juliann Woods address the importance of supporting families during the COVID-19 pandemic.
